Description
Parodia maassii grows spherical to oblong and becomes thereby 7 to 15 centimeters wide. The rounded white woolly vertex is surmounted by brown thorns 13 to 21 ribs are projecting tuberculosis and flattening down. In old age, they are spirally turned. The 8 to 15 marginal spines are only 5 to 10 millimeters long and from honey-yellow to whitish color. The four middle thorns are stronger, bent downwards, partly curved crooked and light brown. The flowers are large, woolly with long white hairs. The sepals are lineallänglich and brick red. The fruit is dry
