Melanopsidium is a monotypic genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Rubiaceae . It includes only one species : Melanopsidium nigrum Colla (1824). 2 It is native to eastern Brazil . Psidium is a group of trees and shrubs in the myrtle family, described as a genus by Linnaeus in 1753.It is native to warmer parts of the Western Hemisphere (Mexico, Central and South America, the West Indies, Gal-pagos, and the southern United States).
