Description
Spodiopogon, is a genus of herbaceous plants of the family Gramineae or Poaceae. He is originally from Asia and the Middle East. The name of the genus derives from the Greek words spodios (ash) and pogon (beard), perhaps referring to the hair of the inflorescence. It has somatic chromosomal numbers of 2n = 40 and 42. Relatively small chromosome.
