Description
Garrya ovata is a species of plant flowering plant belonging to the family Garryaceae who is originally from Texas , New Mexico and northern and central Mexico . Two recognized subspecies, some authors accept as separate speciesGarrya ovata is a shrub that reaches a size of up to 5 m in height, which is normally found in the understory of moist forests . It has thick and leathery leaves, ovate, up to 10 cm long, tomentose on both sides when young, in the glabrous anterior maturity but tomentose below. The flowers are born in hanging clusters. The fruits are dark blue, spherical, up to 8 mm in diameter
