Littleflower Roseling (Callisia micrantha)

Description

Callisia micrantha is not an evergreen; during the years, trees develop a cospicuous radical apparatus, and need watering only if the climate is particularly dry. The succulent, green, practically bare foliage leaves have purpurple strokes on their underside. They are pointed, narrow lanceolate to oblong lanceolate, and somewhat crescent-shaped and streaky. The leaves are 1.5 to 2.5 centimeters long and 0.5 to 0.6 centimeters wide. The inflorescence consists of mostly terminal and sitting, paired coils . The bright pink-violet flowers stand on 8 to 12 millimeters long petal stems and reach a diameter of 1 to 1.5 centimeters. The stamens are bearded, their connectives yellow. The scar is copious.
