Description
Garcinia xanthochymus is a species of tree of the family of Clusiaceae .It is native to tropical Asia : China , Bangladesh , India , Nepal , Burma , Thailand and Malaysia .These are trees that do not exceed 10 meters in height. They live between 500 and 1000 meters above sea level, usually in dense non-montane moist forests.They can be used as ornamental trees and are therefore grown in other tropical regions.The fruit of this species is edible. The plants of Garcinia xanthochymus can also be used as rootstock for Garcinia mangostana , the mangosteen .
