Rhipsalis pachyptera (Rhipsalis pachyptera)

Description

Rhipsalis pachyptera grows epiphytic or lithophytic with semi-erect to somewhat hanging, richly branched shoots and reaches lengths of up to 1 meter. The dark green and later reddish flattened thick shoots are wide elliptical to circular and have prominent veins. The border is notched and gutted. The areoles are sparse with wool.The yellowish to white flowers appear in groups of up to three flowers laterally from the shoots. They are 15 millimeters long and have a diameter of 20 to 25 millimeters. The spherical to depressed spherical fruits are red.
