Red-eyed kegel cactus (Echinocereus ferreirianus)
Description
Red-eyed kegel cactus is a species in the kegel cactus family and the family cactus plants that have their natural habitat in the Mexican state of Baja California . It is solitary growing or branching and can form collections of several strains. The stem is spherical to cylindrical , has green to gray-green skin and becomes up to 40 centimeters high and 4 to 10 centimeters in diameter. Tags virtually obscure the whole tribe. Red-eyed kegel cactus is divided into 9 to 14 ridges that are 1 to 2.5 centimeters high and have hints of being divided into warts . Along the ridges, the shelves are 1 to 3 centimeters apart. From the archipelago, 4 to 7 central edges develop red, but become dark or gray over time, becoming 1.5 to 10 centimeters long. They are round and often curved. Around the central edges are 8 to 14 radial branches which are white and become 0.8 to 4.5 centimeters long. The flower develops near the top of the trunk and is funnel-shaped . It is deep, pale or lilac with dark red to red throat and becomes 6 to 10 centimeters long and 4 to 9.5 centimeters in diameter.
