Description

Ptychotis saxifrage is a biennial herbaceous plant 40-80 cm tall.The stem, very branched, is furrowed streaks in the direction of the length. The root is of the swivel type.The leaves, very divided, are polymorphous, those of the base broad lozenges-shaped leaflets, those situated higher on the stem in very elongated and narrow segments.The inflorescences are compound umbels carrying a dozen umbellules of small white flowers. The sepals are reduced to 5 points overlying the ovary. The five petals, free, are cut into a heart shape.
