Description

Erect shrub to 1.5 m high stems glabrous. Leaves narrow-elliptic, mostly 10–30 mm long and 1–4 mm wide, often drying greenish blue. Flowers in bracteate head; peduncle usually 1.5–10 mm long. Bracts 4, ± ovate, 5–13 mm long, 3–10 mm wide, inner surface glabrous, outer surface silky, often ciliate. Flowers 9–37 per head, ± creamy-white, 10–15 mm long, covered with short fine silky hairs with longer coarse hairs on the persistent hypanthium, inner surface glabrous. Fruit c. 5 mm long, green, enclosed in hypanthium base.
