Description
Symplocos paniculata can reach 3 meters high 1 in Europe, sometimes more (up to 6 meters) in its environment of origin in Asia. Its leaves are 2 to 4 cm in width and 3 to 8 cm in length on average. Its hermaphrodite odoriferous flowers are small 2 to 3 cm long, arranged in panicles , and white-cream color.The bark of Symplocos paniculata is gray and fluted.Its drupes , 3 to 8 mm in diameter on average, ripen from September to October. Their color is of a brilliant blue and purplish. They can be eaten as jelly. The birds are fond of it.
