Sphenoclea zeylanica�grows as an annual�herbaceous plant�and reaches stature heights of mostly 0.5 to 0.7 meters (rarely 0.2 to 1.5 meters.)��It thrives especially in damp and flooded areas.�All plant parts are bare�.�The numerous�roots�are long and knitting-like�.�The upright, usually highly branched�stems�are fleshy with a diameter up to 1 centimeter�and more or less hollow�
