Marmalade Bush (Streptosolen jamesonii)
Description
Streptosolen jamesonii are evergreen, scaly hairy, 1.5 to 2 m tall (rarely to 2.2 meters) tall, shrubs that are densely branched. The dense hairs consist of glandular trichomes , the stalk of which is single-rowed, and whose head consists of one to four cells, parallel to the stalk. In the epidermis and the bark of the trunk are stone cells formed endodermis contains Casparian strip . The leaves of the leaves are ovate, tended, almost leathery and somewhat wrinkled and rough. The underside shows clearly pronounced leaf veins , the gap openings are missing on the top . The flowers are in 5 to 16 mm long petal stems in almost doldree- screwed zyms. The four stamens have hairy stamens . The upper, lateral (lateral) pair is attached approximately between 2/3 and 3/4 of the corolla, has shorter dust filaments of about 3 mm in length and smaller dust bags , in which a Theka is usually reproduced or small or does not exist at all. The other pair has dust threads of up to 12 mm in length, which are attached to the lower 1/4 of the crown, the dust bags are significantly larger at 2.5 - 1.8 mm. The pollen is globularly flattened to spherical, about 33.5 x 36 -m in size and has seven to eight comparatively large apertures (rarely only five). The pomegranate wall ( exine ) is striated-wrinkled. The nectaries are annular and thick.
