Description

Brunfelsia lactea is an unhealthy shrub with 1-2 heights of about 3 m or a small tree which can reach 7 m high and has a stem diameter of 10 cm. The leaves are membranous to leathery and are scattered or tufted at the ends of the short branches. They are elliptical, oval, or inverted egg-shaped, 5 to 15 cm long, 2.5 to 6.5 cm wide. The tip may be pointed to tapered or truncated. The base is blunt or narrowed. From the middle rib, usually 6 pairs of secondary veins, which run together at the edge of the leaf. Between the ancestors, the leaves are netted like a net. The leaves are 4 to 15 mm long. The flowers stand apart and are terminal, sometimes also appear on the side of short branches. The flower stalks are about 1 cm long. The calyx is bell-shaped and 10 to 12 mm long and is covered with short ovate rounded lobes. The crown is pale yellow or whitish, later becomes slightly pink. The corolla is relatively strong, 5 to 7 cm long. The crown has a diameter of 5 to 6 cm and is covered with rounded, broad lobes. The fruits are spherical, 2 to 2.5 m wide and contain elliptical, brown seeds , about 4 mm long.
