Madhuca silamensis (Madhuca silamensis)
Description
Madhuca silamensis is a tree in the family Sapotaceae. It grows up to 9 metres (30 ft) tall, with a trunk diameter of up to 15 centimetres (6 in). The bark is greyish brown. Inflorescences bear up to three flowers. The tree is named after Mount Silam in Malaysia's Sabah state. Its habitat is forests near 850 metres (2,800 ft) altitude. M. silamensis is endemic to Borneo and known only in two locations in Sabah.
