Paullinia brenesii , is a species of climbing plant belonging to the family of the sapindáceas , native of Central America They are vines ; with cylindrical stems, brownish-pubescent when young, glabrous and purplish with age, with reddish-brown stripes on the periderm; simple wood. The leaves are biternate, petiole and rachis not winged; leaflets ovate, ovate-elliptic or obovate, 2-8 (-10) cm long and 1-4.5 (-6) cm wide, obtuse to acute to rarely acuminate at the apex, margin conspicuously crenate-lobate, viscid surface , pubescent on the upper surface and on the underside with arched and erect trichomes , main nerve of the prominent beam, conspicuously more pubescent than the surface, axils of the ancistral nerves below, stipules not persistent. Inflorescences axillary or in terminal panicles, full and densely brown or grayish-pubescent, flowers 5 mm long, white; pubescent sepals. The winged fruit, widely obovate, 1.2 cm long and 1.2-2.5 cm wide, emarginated to truncated at the apex, sparsely pubescent, red, wings up to 7 mm wide, stipe up to 3 mm long; seeds 1-3, white aril .
