Description
A large deciduous tree. Bole is buttressed. Leaves are simple, orbicular to cordate, with an acuminate tip. Flowers are small and yellow, aggregated in heads. Corolla is funnel-shaped. Stamens are 5 and attached at the mouth of the corolla. Filaments are short with oblong anthers. Fruit is a capsule. Not common, found frowing in deciduous forests. Timber is used for furniture, agriculture implements and hose-construction. Flower buds and fruits are edible. Flowers used in perfumes
