Himalayan Musk Rose (Rosa brunonii)
Description
Rosa brunonii , also called Himalayan musk rose . is a plant from the genus roses ( Rosa ) within the family of the rose family (Rosaceae). Rosa brunonii grows as a climbing shrub , reaching heights of growth of up to 15 meters. Up to 100 flowers are in clusters together. The musk- smelling, hermaphrodite flowers are radial symmetry with a diameter of about 3 centimeters . The five free petals are white. The relatively small rosehips are roundish. It thrives at altitudes of 1500 to 2400 meters in the Himalayas , from Kashmir to Afghanistan, Assam, Burma and western China.
