Potentilla nivalis is a species of herbaceous plant belonging to the family Rosaceae . It is a lively herb. Strain of 7-10 mm in diameter; fertile stems 1 (2), of (2) 12-30 cm x 0.5-1.3 mm in diameter at the base, which greatly exceed the leaf rosette, terminal, erect, with (1) 2-3 leaves and inductor of hair strands of different length, ± patents or applied, frizzy or straight, accompanied by multicellular, short and scattered glanduliferous hairs. Leaves with 5-7 segments -the centrals of 4-20 (46) x 3-10 (23) mm, greater than the lateral ones-, spatulate, dentate in the apical half -dientes (1) 7-9 (13) - , green on both sides, somewhat lighter and even sericeous on the underside, with hairiness similar to that of the stems scattered to dense by the beam and dense or very dense on the underside; stipules of the rosette 8-18 mm, narrowly lanceolate, the caulinares, 12-22 mm, broadly lanceolate. Inflorescence in tops, in general congesta, of (2) 3-9 (12) flowers. Sepals 5, 7-10 x 3-5 mm, longer than the petals, triangular, incurved; bracts of calculus 5, smaller or longer than the sepals, narrower, erect. Petals 5, 6-7 mm, from orbicular to obcordate, white, incurved. Filamentary filaments 4-5 mm, conical-filiform, hairy inferiorly; anthers 0.6-1 mm. Styles (2.8) 3-6 (7) mm, subterminal, filiform.
