Description

Helicia petiolaris is a plant in the family Proteaceae. It grows as a small tree up to 15 metres (50 ft) tall, with a trunk diameter of up to 20 centimetres (8 in). The bark is grey-brown. Fruit is black to dark brown, up to 4 centimetres (2 in) long. The specific epithet petiolaris is from the Latin meaning "stalked", referring to the leaves. Habitat is forests from sea-level to 2,100 metres (7,000 ft) altitude. H. petiolaris is found in Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore and Borneo.
