Description

Hakea eriantha, commonly known as tree hakea,is a shrub or small tree in that is native to the east coast of Australia.It grows to between 1 and 5 metres high and has linear to ovate leaves that are 8 to 18.5 cm long and 1 to 30 mm wide.Cream flowers in groups of 6 to 10 appear in the leaf axils between August and November in the species native range.The woody fruit is 20 to 30 mm long and about 15 mm wide.It is wrinkled and has beak that is about 3 mm long.The species was formally described in 1830 by botanist Robert Brown.It occurs in Eucalyptus woodland or forest and the edge of rainforest from Gladstone in Queensland, southward to Gippsland in Victoria.
