Darwinia whicherensis,commonly known as the Abba bell,is a plant in the myrtle family Myrtaceae and is endemic to Western Australia.The shrub has an erect habit typically growing to a height of 0. metres ( ft) tall and 0. metres ( ft) wide and often supports itself on surrounding vegetation.It has green leaves with a linear shape that are to millimetres (0. to 0.0 in) long with a triangular cross-section.The leaves are often crowded at the end of branches and can bend backwards.The flowers are nodding and are enclosed by red and green bracts that are arranged in many rows.It is similar to the species Darwinia oederoides,but can be distinguished by the leaves.The species is distributed in a small area on the west coast in the South West region of Western Australia between Capel and Margaret River.There are three known populations,one natural and two translocated,all found at the base of the Whicher Range covering a total area of square kilometres ( sq mi).
