Easter heliconia (Heliconia wagneriana)

Description

Heliconia wagneriana grows as a large, evergreen , perennial herbaceous plant and reaches heights of 1.75 to 4 meters. In most cases, only one unbranched "pseudo-stem" is formed with three to four leaf-blades with a waved spreading. The "pseudostamm" longest leaf is up to 150 cm long and 30 cm wide. The up to 21 cm long inflorescences are upright, the inflorescence can be found arranged in two rows of seven to thirteen bracts . Each wrapping consists of 15 to 20 flowers. The hermetic flowers are triple. The bloom are white at their base, but dark green and largely bare the extreme end, only the sepals sometimes weak rauhaarig.
