Description

Erodium aethiopicum is a species belonging to the geraniáceas family It is found in the Iberian Peninsula and North Africa They are annual plants, caulescentes. Stems up to 50 cm high, erect, ascending or decumbent, with more or less loose hairs, more or less densely pubescent-glandulose, especially in the upper part. Leaves of 10-170 x 8-30 mm, pinnate, with pinnae1 (-2) pinnatisectas, with last-order lobes usually obtuse, pubescent, with setose, glandular or eglandular hairs, often dyed purple. Umbels with (1-) 3-8 flowers. Bracts ovate-acuminate or triangular-lanceolate, ciliated at least in the margin. Sepals 4-8 mm in fruiting, ovate-lanceolate, sometimes mucronate, with numerous eglandular hairs, short and appressed, or with glandular multicellular hairs, frequently dyed purple. Petals 5-10 mm, uneven, violet. Mericarps 4.3-5.5 mm, with abundant erect-patent hairs, with eglandular foveolas, without infrafoveolar groove. Edges of 30-55 mm.
