Description

It is a bushy plant, 1-1.5 m tall, with reddish branches, inferiorly naked, densely leafy at the top. The branches, if broken, secrete a white latex irritating to the skin.In the summer it comes in the form of shrubs without leaves and skeletal appearance. In winter and spring it forms real spherical cushions with lanceolate leaves with internal margin, of glaucous green color.The inflorescence is an umbrella with 4-5 rays, with bracts similar to the leaves and bracts are widely ovate, obtuse, mucronate, yellowish. It blooms from November to March. The fruit is one tricarpellar capsule about 4 mm long, characteristically covered with tubercles, which contains within it ovoid seeds of about 3 mm in length.
