Description

The dwarf-growing and small tufts forming plants stand individually or are only slightly branched. They are 5 × 6 inches tall, with the leaves in basal rosettes. They have a fibrous root and form short shoots with 5 millimeters in diameter. The ovate to ovate-lanceolate leaves become 10 to 25 mm long and 3 to 10 mm wide. Old leaves are persistent and the leaf blade is rather flat. The gray-green epidermis is covered with short, stiff little warts. The surface is slightly concave flat to near the base, the underside convex and dull towards the tip.The inflorescence consists of elongated and spherical thyrs . The inflorescence stalk is occupied with individual papillae and is up to 12 inches long. The tubular corolla is up to 5 millimeters long. The elongated reverse lanceolate, white to cream-colored petals are fused at the base and have at the top of an indistinct, dorsal appendage. The stamens are yellow.
