Fence Morning-Glory (Ipomoea ochracea)
Description
“Pet poisonous” – Toxic parts: seeds, roots Ipomoea ochracea is a slightly woody, winding liana , which reaches up to 5 m in length and forms only a little watery milk juice . The stems are cylindrical, slender and hairy. The leaves are changing. The blade blades are simple, 3 to 10 cm long and 2.5 to 7.5 cm wide. They are ovate, membranous and up to a few trichomes along the veins hairless. To the front they are pointed and mostly spiky, the base is heart-shaped. The blade edge is full or curved. The veins are slightly prominent on the upper and lower side; the underside is mostly bluish-frosted. The petioles are 2 to 6 cm long and hairy. The flowers stand in their armpits singly or in double-bifurcated inflorescences . The inflorescens stem is slightly longer than the petals . The leaves are egg-shaped and about 1.6 cm long. The calyx is green, does not enlarge, and consists of five nearly equal-sized, egg-shaped, or elongated ovoid, glabrous, spotted sepals with a length of 5 to 7 cm. The crown is funnel-shaped, pale yellow, and violet at the base of the corolla. It is 3 to 4 cm long and is filled with five weak rounded lobes. Stamens and the scar are white and stand out over the crown. The fruit is an egg-shaped, 1.3 to 1.6 cm long, straw-yellow capsule with a thin pericarp . The cup is stable on the fruit. Four seeds are formed per fruit , these are 4 to 5 mm long, black, dull and glabrous.
