Description
Calystegia occidentalis is a plant type from the genus of calystegia ( Calystegia ) from the family of wind plants (Convolvulaceae). The species is endemic in the United States. Calystegia occidentalis is a finely fluffy to fine tomentose hairy, perennial plant that forms a woody caudex as an endurance organ. The stems are low to strong climbing. The leaf blade usually has a length of 1.5 to 4 cm and is lolled more or less noticeable. The lobes are rounded to two-pointed, they form a round to more or less rectangular or pointed arch. The inflorescences are one to four- flowered and are smaller or slightly longer than the accompanying leaves. The Vorblätter are 5 to 12 mm long, linear to almost round, seated or stalked, entire or as the leaves lobed. They start 1 to 15 mm below the calyx usually overlapping it without covering it. The sepals have a length of 9 to 15 mm, the crown is white to cream-yellow colored and 20 to 24 mm long.
