Spiny Spiderflower (Tarenaya spinosa)

It is a perennial plant in its native habitat, although it is grown as annual outside it. It forms a forest of erect, little or very branched, that can reach more than 1 m in height. The stems are thorny with leaves composed of 3 to 5 leaflets arranged alternately. The inflorescence arises in terminal clusters with pink or white flowers whose most peculiar characteristic are the long stamens that protrude from the petals as if they were spider legs, hence their common name. The fruit is a green sticky capsule , dehiscent , about 4 by 11 cm that exhales a special aroma.
