Description
Heliopsis is a genus of herbaceous flowering plants in the sunflower family, native to dry prairies in North and South America. The sunflower-like composite flowerheads are usually yellow, up to 8 cm (3 in) in diameter, and are borne in summer. Species are commonly called ox-eye or oxeye. The name Heliopsis (pronounced /-hi-li--ps-s/, from Greek helios for "sun" and opsis for "appearance") refers to the bright yellow color of the flowers
