Description

Pilosocereus densiareolatus is a species in the genus Pilosocereus of the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet densiareolatus means densely populated with areoles.Pilosocereus densiareolatus grows tree-shaped with a distinct trunk and reaches stature heights of 2 to 6.5 meters. The upright, smooth shoots are olive green to bluish, have a diameter of 3 to 9 centimeters and are slightly woody. There are 13 to 19 ribs available. The translucent, brown to golden thorns gray in old age. The ascending 6 to 15 medial spines are 0.9 to 3.5 inches long. The 14 to 16 outstretched spines are 4 to 7 millimeters long. The flowering part of the shoots is little to very clear, pronounced as lateral cephalium . The areoles are there with white to gray or brown hair of 3 to 8 inches in length and golden bristles.
