Opuntia hyptiacantha is a species in the genus of Opuntia ( Opuntia ) from the family of the cactus (Cactaceae). Thespecific epithet hyptiacantha means, with bent back spines, clawed spiky '. Spanish trivial names are "Nopal Cascarón", "Nopal Memelo" and "Tuna Chaveña"
