Description

Hylocereus Stenopterus grows weak liana-like spreizklimmend and branched irregularly. The green, sometimes reddish, triangular shoots are deeply concave on the side surfaces. The ribs are almost straight to slightly worn out. From the weakly raised areola arise 1 to 3 thick, conical, light brown thorns of 1 to 3 millimeters in length.The salver-shaped flowers appear along the shoots and are 8 to 10 inches long. The flower tube is slightly bent upwards and only 2 inches long. The almost lineal, pointed bracts are more or less purple and have white edges. The stamens are short and excellent. The white stylus protrudes very far. The spherical, shiny red fruits can reach diameters of up to 7 centimeters.
