Description
Cylindropuntia molesta grows shrubby with open and sometimes basal branching or tree-shaped, reaching heights of growth of 1.5 to 2.5 meters. On the firmly attached green or somewhat glaucous , ascending, cylindrical, 5 to 40 centimeters long and 1.2 to 2.5 centimeters in diameter measuring drive sections are large wide humps. The broadly elliptical yellowish areolae bear 1 to 2.5 millimeters long yellowish brown glochids . The one to five reddish head thornshave a yellowish tip and turn a little bit purple to black in old age. They are 1 to 3 inches long. The two to seven finer secondary thorns reach lengths of 0.5 to 1.2 inches.The bronze-purple flowers have diameters of 3 to 5 centimeters. The broad obovate, clearly guarded fruits are fleshy and thorny. They are 2.5 to 3.5 inches long
