Description

Aechmea gamosepala is a bromeliad endemic to southern Brazil. It is often cultivated as an ornamental plant. This perennial species is cited in Flora Brasiliensis by Carl Friedrich Philipp von Martius . It reaches from 3 to 6 dm in height, green foliage ; flowers blue, red or pink.
