Green Rockcress (Boechera missouriensis)

Description

Also known as-Green rock cress, this perennial (some say Biennial) wildflower is found in soil pockets on acidic cliffs, pine forests, rocky wooded slopes, sand and gravel plains. Can be both glabrous (typically) or hairy and is identified by its toothed basal rosette leaves which are deeply pinnatifid. Blooming occurs, in April, with white petals 5 to 8 mm long, nearly twice as long as the sepals. It is listed as endangered or threatened in nine states.
