Gray cryptantha (Oreocarya leucophaea)
Description
Upright, stout perennial. Plant is densely covered with sharp white hairs, giving it a gray appearance. Leaves mostly basal, 1-2 1/2 in., narrowly linear, with sharp tip; stem leaves small, sessile. Flowers pure white. Nutlets smooth and shining. Grows in sandy places among sagebrush. A sensitive plant in Washington, known from only a few sites, with a shrinking range.
