Description

Its name in Spanish is tajinaste (rarely as taginaste) de anaga which mainly comes from the Guanche name anaga.The species name is from the Greek (λευκοφαίον, Modern form: λευκοφαίο) for "shining white" due to its colours It is a herbaceous shrub with many inflorescence cones with white flowers. Its stems can grow up to 1.5 cm. Echium leucophaeum is closely related to Echium aculeatum of the island. And E. brevirame, E. gentianoides, E. piniana and E. webbii of La Palma.
