Description

Echium brevirame, the La Palma white bugloss is a species of white coloured perennial plant from Boraginaceae family, that can be found in south La Palma. The plant have leather-like leaves, which are also densely spiny. It can grow up to 100 centimetres (39 in). The species name is from the Latin for "short branch" as its branch size is small. Its leaves are lanceolate. Similar to Echium aculeatum which its difference is ina part of its calyx which are shorter than the corolla. It is a perennial plant which can grow up to 2.5 m in height. Echium brevirame are closely related to Echium aculeatum and Echium leucophaeum of the neighbouring Tenerife Island.
