Description

Echium asperrimum , is a species belonging to the Boraginaceae family. It is a biennial plant, with abundant long rigid mushrooms and short retrorsas mushrooms. Stems up to 100 cm tall, erect, profusely branched. Basal leaves up to 25 x 2.5 (-5) cm, narrowly elliptical or oblanceolate, shortly petiolate; the upper ones up to 6.5 x 1 cm, narrowly lanceolate. Inflorescence paniculated, branched. Bracts so long or somewhat longer than the chalice, narrowly lanceolate. Segments of the chalice of 6-9.5 x 0.7-1.5 mm, elongating to 9-12 x 1.3-2.5 mm in the fructification. Corolla 13-18 mm, tightly Numbered (3) 3.5-4 × 2.5-3 mm, with a dorsal keel, another ventral and two lateral, thick- and irregularly tubercular, brown. It blooms from May to June.
