Description

Argophyllum laxum is a species of shrub that is endemic to the south of Grande Terre, New Caledonia, where it occurs in dense rainforests and maquis. Argophyllum is a genus in the Argophyllaceae family comprising around eleven species of shrubs and small trees. They feature alternate, simple leaves, often silvery white underneath. They occur in Australia and New Caledonia, where some species are nickel hyperaccumulator.
