Eryngium pusillum (Eryngium galioides)

Description

Eryngium galioides is endemic to the western half of the Iberian Peninsula. In Portugal, it occurs in the provinces Alto Alentejo, Algarve, Beira Alta, Baixo Alentejo and Beira Baixa. In Spain, it is found in Avila, Badajoz, Cadiz, Caceres, Cordoba, Guadalajara, Huelva, León, Madrid, Salamanca, Sevilla, Toledo, Valladolid, and Zamora (Castroviejo et al. 2003). It is not certain whether this species occurs in the Madrid area, Cadiz, La Serena (Badajoz) and around Merida. Its area of occupancy (AOO) is 344 km² while its extent of occurrence (EOO) is 168,536 km².
