Bupleurum salicifolium is a species of herbaceous plant belonging to the family of the Apiaceae . Bupleurum salicifolium differs from other species of the genus in the islands for being a shrub that can reach 2 m in height, with leaves linear-lanceolate, acute or acuminate glaucous and inflorescences loose and elongated flowers yellow. Bupleurum salicifolium is a macaronesic endemism whose ssp. salicifolium is found in the islands of Madeira and Porto Santo and in the Canaries also in El Hierro and La Gomera . Of these islands the var. robustum ( Burch. ) Cauwet & Sunding belonging to said subspecies. In all the islands of the Canary Islands where the species is mentioned, the ssp. aciphyllum ( Webb ex Parl. ) Sunding & G.Kunkel, which is endemic to the archipelago .
