Description

Chenopodium ficifolium , is a species of herbaceous plantbelonging to the family Amaranthaceae . It is an annual plant , which reaches a size of 20-90 cm in height. Stem usually erect, branched at the top, sometimes with small red spots on the leaf axilla. Leaves from glabrous to farinaceous; the inferiors are clearly trilobed, with an elongated middle lobe and parallel sides; the medians with a 2-5 cm long, narrowly rhombic-ovate-elliptical lamina, almost always with a prominent lobe oriented outward on both sides near the base; middle lobe � oblong, from sinuate-dentate to subentero. Inflorescence in panicle , � laxa, highly branched, farinaceous sharpens only the terminal portions; small glomeruli. Hermaphrodite flowers . T�palos5, soldiers up to the middle, weakly keeled on the back, not divergent in the fructification. Stamens 5. Stigmas 2. Partially adherent pericarp. Seeds 0.8-1 mm in diameter, horizontal, rounded contour and blunt or flattened margin; testa with dense, radially elongated foveals. It has a number of chromosomes 2n = 18.
