Description

This species is endemic to the Canary Islands (Gobierno de Canarias 2017), where it is present in La Palma, El Hierro, La Gomera, Tenerife, Gran Canaria and southern Fuerteventura (two individuals) (Fernández-Palacios et al. 2008). Based on the distribution of herbarium specimens, the extent of occurrence (EOO) of the wild populations is approximately 24,835 km2 (GBIF 2017). It occurs from 100 to 600 m above sea level (Kunkel 1981).
