Siberian Saltbush (Atriplex sibirica)
Description
Atriplex sibirica is a perennial herbaceous plant that reaches heights of 20 to 50 cm. Its stem is strongly branched from the base along its entire length with branches lying down or diagonally ( stepping roller ). In the cross-section, the branches are bluntly square, their surface is undeveloped and floured.The greyish-green foliage, densely covered with bubble-hairs and gray-and-white foliage leaves , has a 3 to 6 mm long petiole. (In plants in the mountains also dark-colored bubble hairs occur). Its leaf blade is rhombic or rhombic-triangular to egg-shaped-triangular, with a rounded or broad wedge-shaped base at a length of 3 to 5 cm and a width of 1.5 to 3 cm. The leaf margin is all-round or slightly beeved with a larger basal tooth pair.
