Description
shrub up to 4 m high; Young stems sub-quadrangular, puberals. The elliptic leaves , 13-28 cm long and 3.5-13 cm wide, the apex acuminate with a rounded and apiculate acumen, acute base, whole margins to crenulates, with petioles up to 4 cm long, puberum. The inflorescences shaped pins grouped, lax, up to 20 cm long, with peduncles up to 3.5 cm long, puberulous with bracts solitary, ovate to elliptic, apex and acute base, purple-red, red-brown when dry ; Sepals 5, equal, lanceolate, bilabial corolla, pilose, white, upper lip 2-lobed, lower 3-lobed. Claviform fruits, 30-35 mm long, glabrous.
